Personality/Career Testing

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING BEFORE YOU TAKE THE INSTRUMENT:

  • The Myers-Briggs Type Inventory® (MBTI®) will help you embark on a path towards greater self-awareness, understanding of others, and personal fulfillment. The MBTI® is used in career development, the workplace and organizations, and relationship counseling as a tool to becoming more aware of how you, and others around you, like to look at and go about deciding things.
  • There are no “right” or “wrong” answers. Knowing your own preferences and learning about other people’s can help you understand what your strengths are, what kinds of work you might enjoy, and how people with different preferences can relate to one another and contribute to society.
  • This inventory contains dichotomous choices- this means that you will have to choose one of two opposing answers. Choose the first choice that pops into your mind. DO NOT SPEND TOO MUCH TIME THINKING ABOUT ANY ONE QUESTION. If you cannot decide on an answer, skip that question and return to it later. This will allow for the most accurate evaluation.
  • Remember, this inventory measures your personal preferences for being: the ones that feel most natural, comfortable, and resonate with you. For example, most people prefer to write with one hand over the other. Think of how you are when you are at home, relaxed and comfortable, “with your shoes off-” NOT when you are trying hard (like a right-hander attempting to write a letter with his left hand.).
  • Do NOT think about how you are after working hard to fit into how society, bosses, family, significant others, workplace environments, etc. want you to be. Think about this: what resonates with you? How were you when you were a child, with your friends, family, and other loved ones?
  • Please contact me when you have finished the instrument! We are excited to see the results!

*Please note that Amy Lingenfelter and PeopleLeap, Inc. are a certified administrator and evaluator for the MBTI.
